The Opened World
One of the largest islands in the Alatha archipelago, as well as one of the most prominent, Sadina has a notable history. One of the last major islands to join the original Council, Sadina always stood slightly apart from its proceedings. The island’s name is often connected with the Ja’adin, and it is Sadina that was the group’s birthplace. Much of the island is still under Ja’adin sway. After the rise of the Northern Empire and a series of military skirmishes between the Council and Empire, the island was divided. The concentrated military power of nearby Teres defeated a larger council army, and could not be pushed back but was unable to hold the southern half of the island, reportedly due to an underground agreement between the Council and the Ja’adin. In the south, the original capital of Ir Sadina still stands as the largest city, with dark stone walls and tight alleys both proud and foreboding. Anubeth is the largest of the northern cities, but the partially flooded port is truly controlled by the rampant criminal interests. Those from Sadina are viewed as morose, brooding, cynical, and dark, and the constant conflict has done nothing but reinforce the view.
