The Opened World
No island has stood as distinct from the others as Teres. When the Council was at its peak, Teres was the only major island to not join. They held a navy that rivaled that of the Protectorate, despite being a single mid-sized island. A major factor in their ability choice to stay independent has been the proud and highly regimented martial life, often tightly controlling many aspects of Terathi life. In fact, it was these characteristics that infused the formation of the Northern Empire, and the Imperial crest still honors the Teres with the centrality of the Terathi war mask. The Imperial military has its largest training academies in ancient Sargon, and the Terathi capital of Tidoshan is second in prominence only to Narathet. Tidoshan‘s influence is also felt in the countless battle arenas around the world, who owe their design and prominence to their creation in Teres’ spartan and militaristic past. Those from Teres are seen as more stoic, valuing order and cleanliness very highly, self-reliant, strong willed, and disciplined, with a knowledge that often only the strong and dedicated survive.
