The Maniani tribe is the largest, and arguably most powerful, on Moaloli. Among them, there is no question who is most powerful. Each village is run by a chieftan, but the chief of chiefs, or greatchief, is Uncheuay, known as the Bough-Mender. Once a peerless warrior who combined druid spells with berserker power, Uncheuay is aging, although still immense and powerful. He brought together several factions of the Maniani tribe when it seemed to be on the edge of irrevocable splinter. This, along with a truce with the Poroani tribe, earned him a reputation for mediation and reconciliation. Currently, his city of Samara, capital of the Maniani, is the common entrance point in Melali lands for those of other races. Seeking a balance of dealing with the large influx of newcomers while maintaining the bonds and sovereignty of the tribe is not easy, and there are many who would gladly seek his place.
