The Opened World
Conditions are simply ongoing effects. They can be beneficial, harmful, or neutral. A normal condition lasts for 1D+2 rounds. A short condition lasts 1d/2 rounds. An ongoing condition lasts until removed or healed.
Damage often inflicts strain, which causes the following ongoing conditions.
- Ailing, Strain to Body
- Dazed, Strain to Mind
- Traumatized, Strain to Spirit
- Exhausted, Strain to Mind, Body, & Spirit
- Senseless, the character is unconscious, incapacitated, or unable to respond
In addition, poisons, feats, and spells often cause conditions on characters.
